Introduction: 

The Chapter One Club is a sanctuary for literary enthusiasts, designed to cultivate a culture of reading and discussion among its members. It operates under two main categories: Inspirers (seasoned readers) and Aspirants (new readers). This SOP outlines the club’s structure, session scheduling, eligibility criteria, rewards system, and policies to ensure a fruitful and engaging experience for all members. 

1. Club Rules: 

• Respect and Confidentiality: Members must respect each other’s opinions, maintain confidentiality about personal discussions, and foster an inclusive environment. 
• Active Participation: Regular attendance and active participation in discussions are encouraged. Members should commit to reading the selected book of the month. 
• No Spoilers: Refrain from revealing key plot points or endings during discussions until the session designated for such discussions. 
• Age Criteria: Chapter One membership is open for individuals above the age of 12 years. 

2. Book Reading Sessions: 

• Frequency and Timing: Sessions will be held every Sunday of each month, from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM. 
• Location: The location will be - Chapter One, Aditya World School, Nainagir Campus. 
• Structure: Each session will open with a brief introduction of the selected book or a theme of discussion, followed by guided discussion questions, and end with open floor discussions. 

3. Eligibility Criteria: 

• Inspirers: Must have read a minimum of 50 books, be willing to mentor Aspirants, and possess the ability to lead discussions. Application to become an Inspirer requires a brief interview with the club committee. 
• Aspirants: Open to all who have a passion for reading and a commitment to club rules and participation. New members must attend an orientation session before their first meeting. 

4. Rewards: 

• Recognition: Inspirers and active Aspirants will receive recognition during the annual Chapter One Club celebration. 
• Progression: Aspirants who meet a certain threshold of books read and sessions attended can apply to become Inspirers. 
• Special Access: Members will have special access to exclusive author talks and priority borrowing from the club’s library. 

5. Policy: 

• Attendance: Members are expected to attend at least 75% of the scheduled sessions to maintain active status.
• Book Selection: Books are selected through a democratic process, with members submitting suggestions and voting on the final choice one month in advance.
• Member Conduct: Members are expected to conduct themselves with integrity, respect, and kindness. Any form of misbehaviour, harassment or discrimination will result in immediate expulsion from the club. 

6. Membership Fee: 

• The membership is free. 

7. Amendment Procedure: 

• The SOP can be amended through a majority vote of the club committee, following suggestions and feedback from the club members.
